Count the hosting accounts and domains you will run on that server. Personal Plus (฿2,400/year) allows 2 accounts and 20 domains, which fits a personal server or a couple of your own projects. Lite (฿7,400/year) allows 10 accounts and 50 domains and suits a small agency looking after client sites. Standard (฿13,400/year) is unlimited on both and is the tier you need once you resell hosting seriously.

The team installs and activates DirectAdmin on your server for you the first time, so you do not have to work through the command-line setup yourself. It works on a VPS, a cloud server or a dedicated server.

A Linux server that you have root access to — a VPS, cloud server or dedicated server. DirectAdmin is a control panel, not hosting: it manages a server you already have. Install it on a fresh server rather than one that already has another panel on it.

Per server. The account and domain limits apply to that one machine. If you run a second server, it needs its own licence.

Manage domains and subdomains, email accounts, MySQL databases, files, SSL certificates, DNS records and backups from one web interface, and create separate logins for each user or reseller. It is the same panel used on the Web Hosting and Reseller Hosting plans, so anything you have seen there works the same way on your own server.

DirectAdmin licences are annual. When one lapses the panel stops working, which means you lose the management interface — your websites and data are still on the server, but you would be back to administering them over the command line until the licence is renewed.
